I would like to start off by saying my name is Yeray Rodriguez and I attend Juanita High School.
I’ve been playing soccer since the age of 3 or 4 at arena sports. I then joined Washington Rush at the age of 8, where we've traveled to a few states to play games and tournaments. As of 2023, I now play for Eastside FC, and I can't wait to see where that takes me.. Throughout my whole life, I’ve always struggled with my height. I’m usually always the smallest on the pitch, but that doesn’t stop me from working really hard on and off the pitch, and from overcoming whatever comes in my way.
Another sport I’ve done a lot in middle school is track. I ran the mile for the first time in 6th grade and got exactly 6:00. I was going to do track again is 7th grade, but it got cancelled because of COVID. That’s when I started running and training on my own time. I was lucky enough to be able to do track in 8th grade, and I got 5:25 on the mile. As a freshman, I did cross-country for the first time and I managed to get the 5th best time in the 5k and the 2 miles in the history of my school for freshman’s. In my sophomore year for cross-country, I also managed to beat my personal record by 45 seconds and go to state. Overall, cross-county and track has helped me to also get really good endurance in my soccer matches, which allows me to work really hard.
Acedemic wise, I’ve had straight A’s my whole life and I want to dedicate my future in animals or sports.
The main reason I would love to be recruited is because I‘m not ready to give up soccer after high school. I would love to continue my journey onto college, and who knows, maybe I’ll go pro one day.
