My name is Braxton Smith, I am a 18 year old senior attending St. Albans High School in St. Albans, West Virginia. My primary position in men's soccer is Center Back, while also being experienced in playing Outside Back and Defensive Midfield. I plan to attend college to pursue a degree in cybersecurity.
I have played soccer for over 13 years, and my experience throughout my years of playing along with my athleticism will make me a great addition to any team. I have been described as a smart, resilient and technical soccer player by coaches, players, and spectators alike. As of 6/13/24, I have a recorded 10 Yard Fly time of 1.02 seconds, placing me at a top speed upwards of 20mph. Along with my athleticism, my ball skill, defensive capabilities, and leadership on and off the field leads me to captain my high school team of 23 teammates. I always try my best, whether it be on the field or in the classroom. Junior year, I took AP U.S. History along with several other Honors classes my high school offered, and in my senior year, I am taking AP U.S. Government and Politics, along with dual credit College Algebra, and Honors Online Physics.
Soccer has been my first love and my dream ever since I could remember, and no feeling could ever surpass being on a field with 10 other teammates to play and fight for the team. I have put my blood, sweat, and tears into improving my technical and mental ability in soccer so I can be the best player I can be for my coaches and teammates, and I will continue to do so for as long as I have the physical ability to play soccer.
