My name is Bryan McEntire and I am a senior at Opelika High School. I started swimming in the rec league in Opelika when I was about six years old. My goal is to be a swimmer in college.
This weekend is our second long course meet of the season. I swam 50 free, 100 fly, 100 free, and 200 back. I dropped time in all four events and have new personal best times for LC in each.
I am so excited we will soon be able to actually practice in our new long course pool since we have only had a short course pool the entire time I have been swimming. I am certain being able to train in a LC pool will help me improve my times even more.
My overall time drop this meet was 4.88 seconds over my four events with drops in prelims and finals.
In addition to swimming, I am working two part-time jobs. One as a Patient Care Assistant in our local hospital Emergency Room. The second job is as a Life Guard at the Opelika Sportsplex. I am also very active in the Youth Group of our church, First Baptist Church of Opelika.
My favorite events are Back, Free, and Fly. I am a sprinter. Although I have been playing soccer on our HS varsity team and golf on our HS golf team, I am focusing solely on swimming now and look forward to watching my times drop.
Additionally, I know I will be an asset to a college swim team not only as a swimmer but also as a leader and teammate.
