400IM: Cole Groom...Personal Statement
Growing up on the ocean in Durban, South Africa was where it all began. I truly love the sport of swimming. I am now a Junior at Bentonville West High School in Bentonville Arkansas. I am in the top 5% of my class with a strong academic load. The balance of academics and athletics can be challenging, but I am ready to take both to the next level.
Although I consider myself an IMer, I am a strong mid-long distance swimmer as well. With two current futures cuts, I know I will be adding another 3 in the near future. With the chaotic covid year I did not have as many opportunities to swim as I had hoped and I am ready to prove my times in the water as soon as the opportunities present themselves.
