Paul Orogo '24 Recruiting Profile

I was born in Bryan, Texas, USA, and moved to Canada, where I have been swimming since I was six years old.  I started at a Summer Swimming Club and excelled in the age group, then proceeded to join a Winter Swimming club, where I continued to show excellence. I broke numerous club records, provincial records, and national age group records in Canada. I always aspire to swim at the collegiate level, NCAA Division 1, and eventually in the Olympics. I know that swimming in college is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that could pave my way to achieving my dreams and personal career.

Over the years of swimming, I have improved swimming techniques and developed some of my own, focused on swimming, developed discipline, and set goals, which have made me a very competitive swimmer. I believe that these attributes could contribute to success at the collegiate level. Moreover, I am a team leader, and I try to lead by example while also encouraging my teammates to succeed. I am very teachable, and I always strive to be one of the hardest-working swimmers and one of the ideal recruits you’ll find.

In the classroom, I make sure that I am always on top of my studies and strive to maintain a high GPA. Moreover, I am keen on volunteering at local Christian Youth groups and am currently the team captain of our school swimming team.

Lastly, I am pursuing options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. Likewise, I am hoping that my hard work in both studies and swimming will make me a wholesome and successful student-athlete who will bring pride and honor to my parents and peers.
