Swimming has been a part of my life ever since I was able to recite the alphabet. My passion for the sport has only grown since and I do not know what I would do without it. Swimming has taught me numerous lessons in life and has played a crucial role in shaping who I am today and who I want to be in the future.
Some key traits that the sport has given me include determination, tenacity, and passion. Every day that I come to practice, I make it a point to be the first one in and the last one out of the water because I know that my competitors are working hard as well. I know that if I can edge them out in terms of effort and work, even if it is just a little bit, I will rise on top and become the champion I strive to be. These traits also translate to academia, where I take pride in being a diligent student. I am able to stay on top of my work and maintain a respectable GPA without having to sacrifice necessities such as sleep, nutrition and diet, and in my case, swim practice.
I would like to continue my swimming journey in college because I know that I have a lot of potential in the sport and that I will be an asset to any team that accepts me. I would love to have the chance to prove that I have what it takes to succeed in swimming to others and especially myself.
