Hello, my name is Miron and Iam a 15 year old sophomore at San Marin High School. I have been swimming since I was 8 years old and took a break for two years before dedicating swimming as a competitive sport with the Thunder Coast Aquatics (TCA) during Fall, of 2022. Since my first day of swimming with TCA, I have been making sure to work hard at every practice we have during the week. Our coaches provide 10 practices a week and I manage to go to atleast 9, depending on how many exams or how important my school day on Fridays is. When it comes to the social aspect of the team, I make sure to support my teammates and stay enthusiastic no matter how bad my races are or how bad my day might be going. My goal is to swim at a D1 level, which means that I will do my best at every practice and come out of highschool with atleast a 4.3 weighted gpa. Outside of swimming, I take school very seriously by keeping up with all of my homework and doing well on tests to maintain straight A's in highschool. When it comes to working in a group, I make sure to use my groupmates strengths, so that everyone in the group is doing something they are good at and something they like. I make sure that they understand what they need to do on their part and help them (if neccessary) before taking on my part of the project. I started taking in the value of discipline and leadership after joining the program called, Civil Air Patrol, which is based of the Air Force and provides you with many social and personal skills to help you become more successful towards your goals and your career. With this program Iam able to build these values and ultimately have the goal of swimming at a D-1 level with other athletes who have the same dreams as myself.
