I have been swimming since I was 6 years old, and I have always believed that I could swim at the collegiate level. I always played multiple sports growing up, but swimming always stuck out to me as something more. I knew that in order to succeed at swimming, I had to push myself past my limits. I also realized that to swim in college I had to balance swimming and academics. I’ve worked hard in the classroom to keep a 3.8 GPA throughout high school. One of my greater accomplishments was becoming a Scholastic All-American as a sophomore and I hope to duplicate that my junior and senior years. I want to continue to excel in the classroom in college as it is very important to me. I love pushing myself in practice and making others around me better. I strive to be the leader on my club and high school teams. I think what drives me the most in swimming is the competitive aspect wherever you go. I love to compete and learn from my mistakes so I can get better every time I go out there. When I get to the collegiate level, I hope to join a team environment that pushes everyone to become better as people and swimmers, a family atmosphere. I want to be surrounded by athletes that are dedicated to the sport, helping me achieve my goals. One of my most important goals for college swimming is to score points for my team at dual meets and even conference. I believe with hard work and dedication I will be able to reach my goals. I’m looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically and academically. I have confidence in myself that I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character and dedication to make an immediate impact. I know I have what it takes to be on a college team.
