My collegiate aspiration is to swim for a great college. I have been swimming since I was 3 years old since I moved to Florida. I started swimming for Swim Florida Cape Coral when I was 11. I moved up from Bronze, to Silver, to Gold within 3 years. In 2017 I started high school. I have competed a lot in swimming, but High School Competition is exhilarating. The team pulls for everyone to do their best, finish first and get the best time! I love the team environment. In 2017, I qualified for District Championships for the 500 Free and 100 Breast. Cape Coral High School won District Championships for 2A District 10. I then qualified for Regional Championships for the 500 Free. I did very well considering the weather was very bad. In 2018, I qualified for District Championships for the 200 IM and 100 Breast. I improved my times with both and qualified for Regional Championships. My time in the 2018 Regional Championships for the 200IM, qualified me to swim in the Senior Championships in Orlando, FL. 2019 has been an amazing year! This year I won the LCAC 100 Fly. I also helped my team with our District Championship and won the 200 IM and 3rd in the 100 Fly. At Regional Championships, I placed well enough and dropped more time to qualify for the State Championships! At the 2019 State Championships, I placed 17th. I received the MVP award for Cape Coral High School Swimming and Diving, 2019 LCAC All Conference Team, and my 3rd year Varsity Pin!
I think I would be a great asset to a college swim team because I train hard every day I swim. I work well in a team environment, feel very passionate for swimming and accept criticism well. I know that swimming can teach many lessons, like how to be a leader, communicator, competitor, team mate, and persevere through rough days. I believe that I have learned many of these lessons and continue to grow.
When I started high school, I was accepted into the International Baccalaureate Program. This program is very rigorous and challenging. I feel this has started the direction of growth that will make me more successful in College. I have the desire and will to be successful through College Scholastically and in Swimming.
