I have been swimming since I was seven years old in the third grade, as an alternative to all of the other sports that people were playing, and I have love it ever since. I began swimming for Blue Wave, and in the beginning of my seventh grade year, I transferred to TBAY, now known as TBAC, and have gotten to know some amazing coaches and swimmers. In my seventh grade summer, I sprained my abductor tendon and was pulling for a few months, and in the eighth grade I started experiencing severe pain in my knees because of Osgood-Schlatter's disease, which I still deal with today, but I never once thought about quitting, because I love swimming and everything about it. I love competing with my friends at practice and I also enjoy swimming at competitions, and recreationally as well. My goals for college swimming would be to make NCAA championships, and I know it is very possible for me to achieve this goal because I will work hard for it and do extra as well. I would be an excellent candidate for college swimming because I know how to balance my lifestyle with work, school, swim, and free time, as well as still having good sleep schedules and being able to practice playing the viola, which I started playing in the sixth grade. Additionally, as I am in the IB program, I know what it is like to come to practice very consistently and still be able to del with school and other extracurriculars outside of swimming, and still be able to study hard and maintain straight A's consistently. As for my character, I always try to help others who are in need, I love to encourage others to be their best, as I am very happy when others are the best versions of themselves, as this helps me reflect and do the same onto myself. Ultimately, I would enjoy college swimming, and if I was selected to be on a college team, I would not only improve myself, but everyone else there through positive reinforcement, motivation, and assistance whenever needed.
