Hello, my name is Victor Gil. I thought I was off to join the coast guard until recently. I didn't see my potential for college or swim until the team and coaches I am currently working with helped me see it. I want to go to college, further my education and while I'm there I'm going to crush it in the water. I do still want to join the coast guard, but I have mentally and physically started something that I'm not ready to stop. I may have been swimming for 8 years, but I feel as though my journey has just started. I'm a good candidate because I am nowhere near my peak. I know the more I give to my team and coaches the more I get in return. It's a super cool cycle that I hope to keep going through college. What makes me different? I'm going to be honest, I literally just figured it out. When I dive into the water, I can feel my potential right in front of me. I have it. With the right team and coaches, I'm going to hit some serious times. Thats why I'm different. I've learned that as much as swim is an individual sport, I thrive off the connections and support being part of a team.
