Gavin Smith '20 Recruiting Profile

In college I would like to be able to work hard on academics while continuing to competitively swim. I truly like to race and enjoy being in the water more than anything else. I am a strong leader and am able to make friends very easily. In practice I'm constantly pushing my teammates further during tough workouts, and throughout meets I am cheering on my teammates as well. These qualities would make me an good asset to any team I could potentially be put on. I train with weights through a personal trainer and can workout in the gym with good technique, and overall I am very athletic in and out of the water and can and will push hard in and out of the water. For school I attend Suncoast Community High School in Riviera Beach, FL. It is an all magnet school and we are ranked 6^thin the State, 61^stin the Nation and 14^thin Best Magnet Schools. It is an extremely tough school that requires AP courses and honors classes. This preparation will allow me to be able to balance school and swim when it comes to college.
