Getting 5th in the 50 Breast stroke this past summer at state, made me realize that I should really look into swimming collegiate. Therefore, I feel I have a lot of room for improvement since I have only been swimming since 9th grade for High School. This made me realize that swimming is not just a sport you just play around in. You have to go through pure exhaustion to succeed. The reason I started swimming 3 years ago is because since I was a kid I have always loved the water. My Academic goal is to succeed in learning everything about my major and to be one of the top in my class.
Now I had to overcome plenty of obstacles for swimming. The First one is my high school started a swim team the year I started swimming, we didn't even have a pool to swim at and still don't. All we have right now is a indoor community pool that has no lane ropes, blocks or clocks. Since we don't have the facility, I joined a club team about one year ago that has everything needed. Club has helped me a lot this past year, but the only conflict I have is that I drive 1 hour there and 1 hour back. So usually on a school night I get home around 9:30. I have to manage time for school, church every other Wednesday, and also my job at Chik Fil A. My expectations for a college swim team is great leadership, sportsmanship and great work ethic. As a two time captain for my high school team, I know I have what it takes to be a great leader for your team!
