Hi there! My name is Ethan, and I'm super pumped that you are checking my profile out! I'd love to tell you about my swim journey! I started swim my Freshman year, with no competitive swim experience. I have always been competitive, so I came to practice everyday, and gave it my all every practice. A little over a month into the season, I had moved through all of the lanes until I was in the fastest of the 4 lanes we had. I was dropping pretty decent times for a first time swimmer throughout the meets, and ended up just barely missing state in the 100 Backstroke. After the season ended, my coaches said that they had never coached someone with as much potential as I had, which I thought was really cool. They also recommended that I join club, so naturally I followed their advice. I also started 1 on 1 weight training with the assistant coach after the season ended. The weight training lasted up until the start of school, which was already 3 weeks into my sophomore season. At school, I enrolled in a year round weights program which really helped improve my times. Around the 1st meet, the coaches announced me and 3 other swimmers team captains which was really a really awesome experience for me. I stayed motivated that whole season and came to basically every single practice. That dedication payed off, as I qualified for state in the 200 Freestyle Relay and 200 IM (SCY). Unfortunately, I didn't place as well as I had hoped at state, but I was still motivated to work hard, because that was only the end of my sophomore season. After the season ended, I went back to club for the remainder of the time before highschool season started again. Which now brings us to this year, as my junior season has just started. Already, the coaches announced that I was re-elected as a team captain. Currently, I am continuing to try to attend each practice every week to try to improve my times. I'd like to say that I have a lot of potential given that this is only my 3rd year of swim, so my body is fresh, and my times keep dropping by seconds. Next, I'd like to share my academics. Now please bear with me, I know I've already written a lot but I promise this will be short. Both my Freshman and Sophomore year I took Honors English and Math, and finished with a 4.0 both years. This year I am enrolled all college classes (dual enrollment) and I plan on doing the same my Senior year, which will allow me to graduate with my associates degree. As a closing statement, I'd just like to say that no matter what I do, I put 100% in, whether it's in the pool or in the classroom. Thank you again for checking my profile out, and I hope you have a wonderful day (or night)!
