My name is Colten Mayberry, I am a swimmer for Greenfield Central High School in Greenfield, Indiana. I have been swimming for around 8 years with club GCAT - Greenfield Community Aquatics Team and the last 2 years swim Varsity for my high school swim team. I am excited and inspired about the possibility of swimming at the college level. I am a very competitive person and like to push myself and my teammates. It is important to me to cheer on my fellow teammates and encourage them to reach their full potential. I, of course, enjoy competition and the motivation after a good race as well. In practice I make strides to work hard everyday. My goals in practice are to always outwork everyone in the pool everyday. I am very confident in my work ethic while making my technique better and faster in the water.
Academically I am on track to graduate with an technical honors diploma. Being a strong leader is a trait I find very important in swimming as well as in life in general.
My goals in high school swimming are to be a sectional champion in the 200IM as well as swim in school state in the 50 freestyle. I believe a sectional win will bring me one step closer to being able to achieve some personal goals.
My long term goals are to earn a spot in the highest collegiate program I can. I also want to help my college team win their conference championship and be an integral part of their team. For college I want to achieve a Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement degree, I want to become a Detective. I would appreciate swimming at the collegiate level if given the opportunity. Thank you for your consideration.
