Móric Tóth '23 Recruiting Profile

I started swimming 5 years ago, but never really got into competing back then, until autumn 2020. This is when I moved to my current team, and got my athlete certification for swimming. I trained, as I still do to always improve myself, persistently and giving it my all, and I slowly started to improve, both in strength and technique. For a short period of time, our team leader, Éva Risztov, the 2012 olympic champion became my coach and made our training plans, which were very unusual and hard for the team.It was during this period that  those who really took swimming seriously stood out from those for whom it was just a hobby. A lot of people left, but I was persistent, because I knew my goal was to compete and become the best of the team. During this very strenuous and difficult period, my performance got even better, due to my strong perseverence. My coach soon signed me up for my first competition, where everyone called my performance outstanding for a first race. In the summer of 2021, I had the time standards to participate at the Hungarian Youth’s National Race, which was only my 5th race ever. I got 22nd out of 150 in 50 breast (LCM) and 27th out of 170 in 100 breast (LCM). Since then, I take part in more and more swim meets, and permanently improve in every discipline, while falling in love with this sport more and more

My coach, aswell as my team leader (Éva Risztov, 2012 10km open-water olympic champion) both say that they see big potential in me, that has just been discovered, and that they think I am capable of much more, and have the capability of achieving big results.

Swimming has improved my life in several ways, such as better time management, stress control, endurance and an overall better well-being.
Altough, I still think my education and studies are just as important as my athlete career. This is why I also take high school and learning just as seriously as swimming. And this is also why I chose NCSA, because my college education is very important for me, but I don’t want this to separate me from swimming, which as I mentionned also plays a very important role in my life. I am here to find a way to outstand in performance in both my college and swimming career.
