Personal Statement
Ever since my 3-month-old self first dipped their toes into the water at a Water Babies class in London I fell in love with swimming. As time passed my love for the sport only got stronger. At age 9 I won my first national medal and from that point I decided to begin my journey of a competitive swimmer.
Swimming has always played a significant role in my life and has taught me priceless lessons such as the value of commitment, determination and teamwork which I apply not only in the pool but in everyday life and in my academics. An obstacle I have had to deal with and overcome is my ADD diagnosis which does provide a challenge for me at times however I refuse to let it stop me achieve my goals which is evident through my GPA and swim times.
I am fortunate enough to be captain of an outstanding swim program where I am surrounded by like-minded teammates who push each other towards success and to have my mum and little sister who support me wholly in my attempts to achieve my goals and have been my number one fans since Day 1. As a team captain and straight A student I know I have the work-ethic, talent and commitment to make a meaningful impact on your program.
