Personal Statement
British Championships 2019 Qualifier 400IM
I want to compete at the highest level on the world stage. I aspire to represent Scotland at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham 2022 and Great Britain at the Olympics in Tokyo 2020 and beyond.
I want to obtain a first class degree in Economics. I am in no doubt that I can offer a great deal to prospective Colleges/Universities academically and athletically.
I am very excited about the prospect of attending University and furthering my academic and swimming career in the United States.
I believe I have gained a lot from my swimming career to date. I have great experiences from travelling to swim camps in Fuerteventura, 2 in Tenerife and 2 in Cyprus. Throughout my swimming carer I have believed that what you put in is what you get out therefore I have put in 100% effort in at all times and training as hard as I possibly can. This has meant that I have been able to get results in the pool. This is why I believe I would be great for US colleges/universities. As I am willing and able to train as hard as possible in order for me to reach my full potential. It has been my absolute dream and would be an honour to be able to swim at the highest level and I am willing to train as hard as possible to be the best. This is why I would love and know that I would thrive at US colleges/universities.
Managing my schoolwork with my extensive training emphasises my commitment to my studies and swimming. I have competed at the top level in the UK at Age Group and Youth levels for several years. I have competed at several national championships and won a bronze in the 400m IM at Scottish home nations in 2018. I am skilled in all strokes over almost all distances multiple distances and offer coaches significant flexibility to fit team requirements.
