Personal Statement

I love everything about swimming.In Turkey we have more trainings than the US. I go to morning trainings at 05.30 am for 3 days a week.I also have evening trainings 6 times a week and I work with a PT 3 times a week.Even after all of that never have I said "I don't want to go to my swimming training today."Because I love what I do, I am a disciplined and a dedicated swimmer who never gives up.

Academically I am a very good student.I believe all of this makes me a good candidate for a good college swimming team.When I start studying at a US college, my first goal will be to represent my team at nationwide races with success.I also dream of being a part of the Olympic team one day.

  • The Roadrunners won seven events in the meet including the 200 medley relay to open the meet. The team, who was made up of Adam Wright, Joseph Swede, Andy Sholknik and Doruk Evcimen clocked in at 1:40.38. Evcimen out touched the Bearcats at the wall for the team win. In the 1,000 freestyle, Wright and Sean Robinson went 1-2 in the race with times of 10:06.80 and 10:39.36 respectively. Evcimen won the 200 freestyle in 1:49.02 while Sholknik placed third in 1:56.32. Caleb Baron (1:00.29) and Samuel Liao (1:00.78) finished 2-3 in the 100 backstroke while Swede finished third in the 100 breaststroke in 1:02.41. Wright won the 200 fly when he clocked in at 2:02.24 over six seconds ahead of the Bearcats who took second. AJ Guevara placed third in the same event in 2:16.46. Swede (23.65) grabbed a second place finish in the 50 freestyle and Evcimen earned his second first place finish in the 100 freestyles in 49.55 seconds. Ramapo also won the 500 freestyles when Robinson won in over seven seconds with a time of 5:08.36 while Evcimen posted his third first place finish in the meet in the 100 fly in 54.43.

  • Again we had an intense training at the camp. This time Chad Le Clos arrived a few day before we did. He even asked the reception if the Fenerbahce team would visit the facility again and when he learned we would , he was pleased :)
