Swimming is one of the most influential pieces of my life. I became interested in swimming from a young age and participated in swim lessons until I joined a competitive team at ten. Since then, my journey both around the world and in the pool has taught me the skills of time management, leadership, and versatility. I learned time management through the early morning practices followed by school, and then another practice where I had to balance swimming and schoolwork. As a captain on my varsity team I strengthened my leadership skills by assisting coaches with the management of the team. I have learned to become very adaptable throughout my family’s frequent moves. I have had to establish relationships in three countries during my career and they have helped shape me into the athlete I am now. I plan to use these experiences to my advantage in college to be able to push myself to the highest level, both academically and athletically. I believe I have yet to reach my full potential as a swimmer, and I’m looking for a team where I can contribute while still being challenged. My goal is to make a great addition to a team, swim my fastest, and study hard in university.
