Personal Statement
I have a dream.
I’m sure you’ve heard that before.
My dream is to be the most dominant Olympian in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle in Scottish and Canadian history.
Many swimmers may say the Olympics is their dream, but there aren’t many that are absolutely willing to put in the work to chase it. I am and I do.
For the past 4 years I have been progressing through the Scottish Swimming Development Pathway. Just last month I was selected to join the Scottish National Junior Team for 2024-25. This opportunity will provide international racing experience and provide a platform to build my performance profile.
Why swim NCAA?
I’ve always wanted to be a part of an American college team because of how passionate you are for one another, pushing each other on as a true sporting family.
For me, finding the right college and swim program is the next key big step that will catalyse my education, my performance and propel me towards my future whilst helping others achieve theirs.
But why pick me?
I’m more than a hard worker in and out of the pool. I’m an athlete who will not back down or run away from pain. I embrace it.
I’m a relentless student. Every day I study the best in the swimming world and identify that which I believe can help me perform better. I then test and measure to see and feel what works and what does not.
I am confident I can deliver what is asked of me.
I punch above my size. I may be not be the biggest or tallest on the blocks in my age group (at least here in the UK), but I’m still growing - mentally, technically and physically. There’s so much more potential for me to tap into with the right coach, the right program.
Now what can I bring to the team?
Confidence. Passion. Focus. Drive. Example.
If I can’t do it yet, I learn how and then show the way.
The right team is out there. Is it yours?
