Brandon Chapman '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Brandon Chapman, I am an 18 year old (12/17/2002) swimmer from South Africa and I would like to receive a scholarship and swim for an American College. I have competed in and won races at national level before. I swim around 9.5 hours as well as doing 3.5 hours of land training a week, but I feel as though I could still train more at college in order to achieve my goals. My ultimate goal for swimming is to compete at the Olympics.

I specialize in all butterfly distances, but I also do 50,100 and 200 freestyle and I enjoy racing in relays as well.

I also focus on my academics and achieved 4 distinctions for Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Biology and Accounting in my final year at school. I would like to study to be a chartered accountant at college. I would like to attend an American college as I believe that it is a place where I would receive the best education and support for both swimming and academics as well as be able to compete with the best of the best. I value having a good team and environment and I believe that I can find these in an American college.

I think that I would make a good teammate and that I could provide leadership when I am a senior.  I am very motivated and I work hard to achieve my goals and I learn from all my races, whether the result was good or bad. I would very much appreciate it if you could let me know if you have any interest in me.
