Personal Statement
My name is Bakr Kziber and I am an 18 year old swimmer raised and born in Rabat, the capital of Morocco. I have been swimming competitively for the past 6 years and have won the Moroccan national championship 7 times.
Swimming has always been a lot more than a mere sport. It’s been a companion that has helped me concentrate, relax and keep going forward. I owe to it much of my determination and hard-work. It has become such a big part of my personality that I hardly see myself pursuing a higher education without it.
That is why the option of pursuing my education and playing sports harmonically is what interests me the most. Being from Morocco where Arabic and French are mainly spoken, I could barely speak English only a few months ago. Now, I am taking a GAP year to work on my English and train very hard to improve my swimming times.
With a daily training schedule, I hope to achieve the qualifying times to play in the Olympics of Tokyo. I have been improving and I am very confident that I will improve in the next few months.
I also plan to take my SATs and TOEFL and will update them on my profile.
Thank you for your time reading this.
