Personal Statement
I have been swimming since I was seven years old. I'm a positive, hardworking, determined, and coachable swimmer who enjoys the sport of swimming. I train 17 hours a week year-round with my club (Flatland Swimming) to improve my times the best I can, whether it's in the pool, in the weight room, or at stroke clinics. In June of 2023, I was selected as a part of the provincial team to swim at the Age Group International swim meet in Toronto where I placed third in the 50m breaststroke final. I have a strong work ethic and I try to lead by example while also supporting my teammates.
My current goal is to achieve the Canadian Trials times in the breaststroke events.
At school, I'm a student who takes my academics seriously by consistently trying my best with every assignment, test, or presentation to the highest grades I can. I'm enrolled in a full class schedule as well as three AP programs (Math, English, and Biology). Furthermore, I'm also an avid member of my high school band, choir, jazz band, and wind ensemble which is why I'm great at managing my time. I've been well above the honor roll standard in all my years of high school, and I often volunteer with a local student-led non-profit organization.
