Nicolás Simón '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello! I am Nicolás! Swimming. It's in my blood. My father and uncles all had swim careers, and so do I. But where I differentiate from the rest of my familiars, is my pursuit of a higher more intensive training, in institutions that offer excellent academic opportunities.  Swimming has opened many doors for me. Pursuing a higher, and more intense level of training, as well as education, could benefit my discipline, work ethic, and growth as a young adult. I hope to bring passion and dedication to any team who so welcomes me and push myself beyond my limits. 

These six years of competitive swim have made me realize how truly passionate I am about my sport and the personal growth it brings to me. The life of a student-athlete is not always the simplest, yet we all find our strength and determination from the sport. No different am I. Swimming expands my horizons and I hope to do the same when it comes to higher education and other opportunities. 

I would also love to embark on a journey to learn about International Relations and Political Science, to become a diplomat/representative for my country, or maybe even an official politician. Higher education programs would assist me on that journey. Hopefully, one day, it will allow me to become a great reformer, a great example, and a great politician, to lead my country towards its highest potential. 

All in all, swimming and higher education would aid me in fulfilling my aspirations, my desires, my dreams.
