Personal Statement
I was born in Prague, Czech Republic where I have lived my entire life. I am a dual citizen of both the USA and the Czech Republic, as my father is American, and my mother is Czech.
Sports have always been a part of my family. My grandfather played both tennis and basketball at West Point (and retired from the army as a 3 star general), my father played polo professionally all over the world, and my mother excelled at track and field and later rode dressage and won several national championships.
To me Prague is the most beautiful city in the world but I love spending time in the States with my dads side of the family and friends. I have seen a great deal of America as I have family on both coasts and I have had the opportunity to travel throughout the States.
My goal is earn a good degree, from a good school while I pursue my dream of becoming an international calibre swimmer. Last summer while I was visiting my father in California, I had an opportunity to train with Doug Green. This was an eye opening experience as I have learned that the system of training in the USA is much more advanced than the training we get in the Czech Republic. One of the big differences is that for the most part (and until recently) "everyone" basically trains the same each day. The experience left me wanting A LOT MORE.
