Personal Statement
I am an American who has spent my entire life overseas in the country of Estonia in Northern Europe where I have attended local schools. (Estonian schools are rated in the top 8 in the world by PISA 2018 study). Currently, I am studying at an upper level high school that specializes in Math and Physics. I am also fluent in 3 languages and working on my 4th.
The highlight of my day is swim practice. I love the feeling of hitting the water and going fast. This past year due to Covid, there were very few swim meets in Europe, however during practice I swam 50m free (SCM) in 23.44 (converts to SCY 20.94). It is my goal to achieve this time in competition and continue to get even faster.
I am known for my strong work ethic in both school and swim practice. I have excellent time management skills. I always give 120% in everything that I do. I am coachable. I will work hard. And I desire to get faster.
Even though I have traveled to 34 countries throughout my young life, I have spent very little time in the USA. I look forward to attending college, experiencing life in America and being part of a team! As I watch American college swim meets, I am envious of how American teammates all root for each other and cheer each other on. This team spirit is rare to find outside of the USA. I am really looking forward to experiencing and participating in this firsthand.
My goal is to swim in a division 1 program and to graduate from a high level American University where I can study Systems and Engineering.
