Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Patrik Zagar, and I am a young and ambitious athlete who attends the American International School of Zagreb. I have been dedicated to competitive swimming since 2019, and my ultimate goal is to become a champion at the Olympic level.
Swimming is my passion, and I find it incredibly fulfilling to push myself to my limits during strenuous training sessions. Despite facing challenges such as changing clubs and battling Covid-19, I'm determined to reach my goals with your support.
My preferred swimming strokes are breaststroke and freestyle, and I excel in short distance races such as the 50m, 100m, and 200m freestyle, as well as the 50m, 100m, and 200m breaststroke. You can find my times for these events on the Croatian Swimming Committee's website. Although my times may not yet meet Ivy League standards, I'm confident that by the end of the year, there will be a significant improvement. I'm also a strong long-distance swimmer and won first place in the absolute division by completing a 2500m race in 30 minutes and 29 seconds.
