My passion for swim started when I was little, and I would watch my dad do triathlons. I wanted to be like him. I did my very first Iron Kids Triathlon at the age of seven. For training I would ride my bike and run around our neighborhood, but I didn’t have a access to a pool at that time. So I knew the swimming would be difficult for me. I was really scared and felt like I was going to drown. There was something inside me made me keep going and not give up. That fall at school they handed out information about the local swim club at school. I brought it home, and begged my parent to let me join so I could become a better swimmer. That’s when I fell in love with swimming.
Swimming has taught me about sacrifice, commitment, and teamwork. My swimming has helped me grow as a person and a student. It has helped me academically as when things get hard I keep pushing through to the end. I’m looking for a program where I can grow as a student athlete and academically. I believe that I have not only the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an impact on your program.
