Hard work isn't just a saying to me it's a way of living. I wake up everyday wondering how can I better myself, how can I take the next step forward. I have worked and earned for everything I have ever received. I know I would give my everything any practice no matter how tired or soar I was because I always want to get better. I'm an only child raised by a single mother who has taught me more than any other person ever could. She always made sure I put academics before athletics but I also wasn't allowed to miss practice. I know that thanks to her I can be successful as a student-athlete in college.
Being a successful student-athlete means always giving everything I have for myself and my school. I would be a teammate and would strive everyday to become better. Being on a team means one thing to me and that is: Together Everyone Achieves More. It's a simple message but i think it shows exactly what the purpose of a team is and that is something I would want to be a part of for my college career. As a captain of my high school varsity team I made sportsmanship and the idea of hard work being a reward a base for how our team works, and it has proven to be very successful qualifying many guys to swim at states who had never really thought about going to states until then. This was all because of teamwork and everyone working together to get better as a group and I think that is one of the biggest reasons I want to swim in college.
