My name is Axel Raybourn. I am a Senior at Oscoda High School and am Co-Captain on the Varsity swim team. I maintain a 4.0 in high school while taking AP classes. I am actively involved in various organizations; NHS, Rotary’s Interact Club, Student Rep. United Way, Oscoda Robotics team, and the Oscoda marching, pep and concert band. I am a lifeguard, CPR certified and I’m working on my PADI cert. Last Summer I finished a YMCA leadership camp and plan to use my certification to go back as a counselor. this summer. I just recently was confirmed with our Methodist Church. I plan on pursuing a degree in electrical engineering. I feel what makes me different from other recruits is that I’m well-rounded candidate, who is very coachable, hard-working and a team player. I’ve been swimming since I was five years old and I know it’s an important part of my physical and mental health. Some other activities I enjoy, is hiking, kayaking, sailing, reading, fixing gaming equipment and collecting vintage consoles and comic books. I also get much enjoyment practicing speaking German with my Grandmother, and providing service to my community and helping the elderly.
