I was never athletic growing up, to begin I was afraid of the water in my youth. My family tried for years to put me in different sports, testing hockey, basketball, baseball, soccer, all kinds of different sports to see what I would fit into. I didn't fit into anything. Whether I didn't seem to show any signs of caring, or whether I wasn't good at the sport. There was nothing, finally, when fed up, my parents put me into swim lessons as a final attempt, and in a strange twist of fate, I loved it. I never clicked with anything before I tried swimming, and the minute I started I was hooked. Taking swim lessons in my 6th grade year of middle school, I couldn't get enough. Joining my High School Swim team my 7th year. Since then I've shown amazing levels of growth and success, not just in the water but also while participating in Karate, swim instruction as well as academics. I've never needed excess studying in school, despite the Advanced Placement and Honors classes I am taking. I have undergone countless hours of volunteer work at my local karate school and eventually held a leadership position. I finished Karate with a second degree black belt. I eventually left Karate to peruse swimming even further, I've shown amazing leadership, and dedication to both the pool, and academics. If you were to consider me as an athlete at your school, I can guarantee that I would show these qualities that make me an outstanding athlete and academic scholar. Looking forward to hearing from you soon, thank you.
