I began my love of the water when my mother first started me at my local colleges swimming lesson program. I instantly fell in love with it and continued through the program until I was recommended to join Billings Aquatic Club. I was thrilled to be apart of a swim team as was my mother who also grew up swimming. I joined Billings Aquatic Club, or BAC almost seven years ago and I have no plan of stopping anytime soon. I have learned to love the grueling warmups our coach, Sean Marshall, puts us through on a daily basis, then following those warmups up with 3,000 plus yardage main workouts all within our two hour practices each and everyday.
When it comes to practices, I often focus on not only just being at the practice, but also attempting to give it my all no matter what's going on outside those pool doors. I also focus on being consistent with my practices. By that, I mean that I always show up early ready to not only swim but also assist with setting up the pool if it is required. Consistency to me also means that I put forth the same amount of effort each day and that I am always improving my times in practice so that I know I am ready to make a massive time drop or make a certain qualifying time when a meet comes around. I plan to continue this dedication throughout college to hopefully reach some of the highest tier meets in the country. I am also ready to put that same focus and dedication into the classroom in college to achieve my degree.
Outside of the pool doors, I tend to keep a good focus academics as well. I enjoy school and enjoy seeing myself succeed in both the pool and classroom. I'm pushed by not only my parents but also my teachers and peers to achieve straight "A's" throughout high school and maintain a minimum of a 4.0 GPA. That does seem like a daunting goal, but I feel up to the challenge. Also, when it comes to specific class, I really enjoy mathematics and science classes as they help me towards achieving my goal of studying a form of engineering later in life. I will be studying to achieve my academic goal of receiving a bachelors or masters degree in a form of engineering, that of which I have yet to decide.
