I started swimming in a summer league ten years ago. I have a passion for the sport and decided that a 7 week summer league program would not allow me to reach my potential as a swimmer. This September I began to swim in a year round program to see how much I could improve. Giving up my summer league was a bit nerve racking but I like challenges and I like to try new things. I have participated in many other sports including football (member of the Montana State Class B Football Championship team 2015), track (district pole vault champion, state qualifier), gymnastics (state champion several times and regionals qualifier) and 4-H Shooting Sports (12th place at nationals). This wide variety of competition has allowed me to develop a healthy respect for athletes in each sport and good sportsmanship. Over the years I have developed a stubborn determination to succeed at whatever I do. Success for me isn't defined as winning. It is defined as improving. While others focus on what place they get, I focus on my times because I know when my times go down my placement goes up. While swimming is important to me, academics are just as important. I plan on majoring in engineering and a college with a good engineering program is important to me. If you want an athlete with a lot of potential to improve combined with a serious student and a little bit of Montana attitude thrown in....I would love to hear from you.
