The hardest things in life have the greatest rewards. I do not particularly care for the things that come easy to me because I believe that I need to work for the things that I want to accomplish and achieve. Often times, the things that come easy tend not to have a long journey with lessons to learn and grow from. I am the type of person that works hard, stays focused, and dedicates my time to pursue what I want in life. Most of my goals are based off of my academics, which I always place the most emphasis on. One of my focuses for college is to have a better GPA than I do in high school. College is the next step to pursuing a career later in life and I want to make sure I am on the right path with my academics in college. I have always been told, hard work pays off, and I've seen this in every aspect of my life. I also make sure to take time to have fun. Sports and extra curricular activities take a lot of hard work, but I always remember to have fun. I think this is why I love swimming so much. I love to compete, but swimming is fun and I enjoy being in the water. I have seen myself grow as an athlete, not just with swimming but with other sports as well. Regardless of what sport I am participating in, I continue to push myself to become better. Even though swimming can be an individual sport, the team aspect and the team camaraderie certainly helps me to continue to work towards becoming the best athlete for my school. If given the opportunity to continue my swimming career at the collegiate level, I will continue work hard to become a better person, a better swimmer and a positive influence for others.
