I have been swimming close to nine years now and I haven't always cared for the sport. When I was about 14 years old I finally took a huge liking to it and it started consuming my life. I didn't care if I had to wake up at 8 a.m. in the summer and dive into freezing cold water at the park, I was hooked. I started off High School with really huge expectations that I haven't quite achieved yet and that is my fault alone. I should have been trying the hardest I could in and out of the pool to get better and I didn't do enough. Now, it has hit me, I don't get another chance for this and it means I have to start major training. I decided to run track to get in better shape with it and I am starting to do some lifting with the school football team to gain strength. I am willing to spend all my summer hours in the pool as well as in the gym. Flip turns, starts and kicking are my flaws. I will be spending all my time working on those to improve and to achieve my goal and not have to give up the thing I care about the most. Swimming is my favorite activity and I won't let anyone down given the chance.
