First, I would like stress that I work extremely hard at any and all tasks I encounter. Academically, I will attain the Diploma of Distinction and the State of Ohio Honors Diploma. I am also a contender for Valedictorian. I take predominately college courses in high school at BGSU so that I will be more confident in the college arena after high school.
Athletically, I have always participated in many sports (5 Varsity letters after my sophomore year), but swimming has become my passion. I have gotten my 50 free is down to a 23.09 and know it will only get faster. My work ethic always stands out with my coaches. Furthermore, my father was a swimmer for Ohio University, and I am pushing myself to follow in his footsteps.
Finally, I want to explain how important my family has been in making me the person I am today. An illustration: my little brother, Ridge had a hearing disability fixed through surgical intervention. He learned through vision but was labeled as being on the “spectrum” - a catchall when there is no real answer, which he overcame. Through years of working as a family unit, he is now a confident, strong, caring and absolutely brilliant person. My relationship with him has made me a more tolerant, compassionate and empathetic person. I look at what he has achieved and it inspires me to always do more.
I hope to have demonstrated in my profile that I possess the attributes that reflect a recruit that is worthy of being part of a collegiate team and that I would do everything to emulate the characteristics of a responsible student-athlete. I thank you in advance for your time!
Sincerely
Rowan Roshong
