Personal Statement

I am currently 18 years old and hit a 6-inch growth spurt during the year of 2020, going from 5'6" to 6'0". Unfortunately, this occurred during the lockdown period of pools, so I haven't had the chance to consistently train and refine my technique. However, I have been persistent on training at home with equipment, and going on runs at night ever since, as well as picking up many other interests along the way. I have published a book called "The Hidden Graveyard" and as a freelance opinion columnist, I write and submit OP-ED opinion articles to the biggest newspaper agencies in the United States.

I am currently completing my first novel titled "Self Inflicted Limitation," see my website, "www.selfinflictedlimitation.com. This is in addition to the first issues I have released of my E-Book short story series called, "Diaries of Darkness," which targets the Intelligent suspense/thriller, and horror genre readers. This is in addition to recording and editing my many motivational short speech podcasts which will become a series, that will be uploaded and marketed online very shortly. I’ve began an online improv theatre production company through ZOOM called, “Dark Side Tales,” “www.darksidetales.com.” As for improv, it is mainly categorized with comedy, but I have been casting as a producer for the horror genre. Incorporating private and corporate events, there are many opportunities.

As I have reached and surpassed my goal of competing at the provincial championships in Ontario (OFSAA). Intending to achieve an Olympic status in swimming, I have the desire to attain a scholarship to a college or university. Once the pandemic has subsided, I will begin my lecture series that I have planned for at high schools across Ontario. I have developed a new competitive underwater game, which I launched last year, "Treadball," "www.treadball.com." After this creation, I had the great idea to start up a swim club, called "Flyboy Swim Club," "www.swimcanada.org."

My interests are in competitively swimming, free diving, opinion writing/columnist, public/motivational speaking, fiction writing, and creating new ventures. I am reliable, dedicated, and committed to achieving the highest swimming goals, which are competing at the national level. I trained five to six hours a day in the pool before the pandemic, which closed the local pools. I switched over to training in Lake Ontario and Lake Simcoe over the summer, training approximately three and a half hours a day. My high marks in school reflect my dedication and commitment to achieving a scholarship level for both swimming and academics.

Training

  • Prior 5-6 Hours In-Pool Training // 3-4 Hours of Lake Swimming ~ Biking & Running (Scarborough YMCA)
  • 2 years
  • Prior to the pool closures, in my junior year I trained on my own at a local YMCA for five to six hours a day because I couldn't afford swimming in a club. I had only taken up the sport of swimming in my sophomore year, by the end of it, I pushed myself mentally and physically to achieve better times for the next year. After the closures, I transferred to swimming in Lake Ontario and Lake Simcoe for three to four hours a day, to maintain my stroke technique and strength when going up against three to four foot waves. I go for two hour long bike rides at night on my own to strengthen my quads and to keep up my cardio. I also go running during the day to maintain my cardio to keep myself in check. In the short span of two years, I've commited myself and achieved big results without the help of a club coach. I look forward to improving more by intensifying my daily workout routine everyday.
