My name is Riley Carswell, and I aspire to swim competitively for an American university, as well as getting a degree in the mathematical or engineering realm. I've been swimming since 2016 and I've loved every minute of it. Hard work has paid off for me in the pool and in the classroom with respect to race results and academic performance. My swimming goal is to reach the Canadian National Team in mid to long distance freestyle events. Four years of premier coaching and competition would help me to reach that goal. My academic goal is to attain a degree that will provide a solid foundation for a professional career in engineering or health sciences.
I would be a good candidate for a collegiate swim team due to a number of personal attributes. I have a great work ethic and drive to excel in swimming. I am strong academically, which will me be a complete student athlete, with emphasis on both "student" and "athlete". I am coachable. I listen to my coaches and follow their guidance and instruction both in and out of the pool.
I'm a hard worker, focused, strong in the classroom, fun to be around, stay out of trouble when I'm not swimming and I am highly motivated to continue improving at the next level of swimming.
