I would like to find a university that will allow me to grow and develop both academically and personally. I am leaning towards studying engineering, but I am also very interested in cyber security. One of my goals is to get an appointment to one of the service academies, fully realizing that my personality type of being calm under pressure would suit me well in that type of environment. Whether I'm on the starting block, the diving board, or on stage with my cello in hand, I have the keen ability to be able to focus, and not lose sight of what's in front of me. I think that attribute helps separate me from some of the other swimmers out there. I also know what it's like to be a good teammate. I sacrificed personal achievement this past season in order to help my high school team win Districts. The coach needed me in all 3 relays, so I was only able to swim one individual event. I also had to give up on diving for Districts as well, but I didn't mind one bit. It felt good to me knowing I was doing the right thing for the team.
