Swimming is my passion. I started swimming summer league when I was twelve years old, and in that season I realized that I loved the sport and started feeling a hunger and a need to improve. I continued swimming, getting more and more competitive, until I was a freshman in high school when I decided to join a club team and take it to the next level. Throughout my freshman year I saw a lot of improvement and placed top 5 in my age group at my club championship meet. That is when I saw I really had potential at swimming. I saw a lot of disappointment my sophomore year, hardly dropping any time which was a struggle for me mentally all year. I saw some improvement this past year as a Junior once we got a new head coach. He has been an asset to me as a person and an athlete. As a swimmer I feel I am easily coachable. I have a lot of respect for not only my coaches but all my teammates, and I am always willing to listen and learn.
I am dedicated to anything I do in life, and this extends to the classroom. I enjoy expanding my knowledge of the world and work hard to keep my grades up and do my best. Inside and outside of the classroom, I love learning about and experiencing art history and culture. I enjoy art museums and theater. My parents are taking my older sister and me to Italy in the spring, and I can't wait for that trip. I'm taking AP Art History right now, and I feel like I'll be able to apply so much of what I'm learning to see things in a better way.
