I started swimming 10-11 years ago on my summer league country club team. I had been doing that throughout elementary and junior high until I got to high school. The summer before I entered high school, the country club coach (who was also the high school coach) recommended that I should swim in high school. He put me straight on the Varsity team and I have been swimming competitively ever since my freshman year of high school. My times have dropped significantly each year and I feel like I still have room to grow and improve. As a student-athlete, I have had a lot to balance throughout high school. Between taking high-level AP classes and additionally being involved in band and robotics, I have learned how to balance my activities and remain academically competitive. I believe that I would be a successful student-athlete in college because I am dedicated to my craft and determined to improve. I am also easily coachable and always open to critique and advice.
