Personal Statement

I've had an affinity for the water ever since I was young and I have always been a strong swimmer. When I was little I asked my mom if I could join a swim team, but she has been a single mom since I was 9 months old and just could not afford it or get me to the practices. I tried many sports which I enjoyed but never fell in love with. Then in 8th grade I went on a tour of the high school with my class and noticed they had a swim team. After talking with the team members I got filled with excitement and asked my mom if I could join the swim team through the high school. Since we were in a better place financially and could make the practice times my mom agreed to let me try out! Since day 1 I have felt as if I have found my place in the sports world. Swimming has improved my focus, it's motivated me to push beyond what I believed were my limits, and has helped me in all aspects of life. Swimming is my passion and I plan to take it to the furthest extent! I'm working really hard to improve my academics as well as my times to make this dream a reality.

US Naval Academy Summer Swim Camp June 2021

Navy Swimming Camp is a stroke intensive camp. It is designed to help a swimmer improve in each of the four individual strokes including starts and turns. One stroke will be highlighted each day, with a day reserved for starts and turns. Training will occur in each session, with swimmers receiving individual attention. Campers receive daily instruction in dryland activities designed to improve individual fitness levels.
Texas A&M -Aggie Swim Camp July 2021

A premiere technique-based camp where the philosophy is “INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION". They do one-on-one analysis and detailed stroke work with EVERY camper, EVERY day. The Aggie Swim Camp is known for being the first major collegiate swim camp to send home an individual videotape of each camper. Extensive filming includes above water, below water, starts and turns with voice-over stroke instruction, as well as one-on-one video analysis with camp coaches daily.
