Matthew Eagar '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Matthew Eagar. I am a Sophomore at Judge Memorial Catholic High School in Salt Lake City. I grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa and have swum since I was in Swim Diapers, aged 3 months old.  I love the water and the thrill of competitions and supporting my team mates. I have lived in America now for 2 years and am embracing my skills of discipline, responsibility, flexibility, adaptability and hard work and extending myself beyond my comfort zones to  make it in my new home country.

I aim to achieve a balance between academics, my sport and hobbies playing guitar and golf. Maintaining top grades and top swim times is very important to me. I aspire to join a college that encourages my goals of combining academic and swimming excellence.
