Thomas Dines '23 Recruiting Profile

Swimming has been a core part of my life since I was five years old. I had a desire to swim and love of the water early on. In 2010, I started out swimming on the local summer swim team, then began swimming with a community year-round swim team in 2011. In 2016, I enthusiastically moved to club swimming for South Eastern Virginia Aquatics (SEVA) with the drive to improve and significantly increase my commitment and level of competition. I quickly achieved goals I set for myself including top ten times for Virginia and the Eastern Zone. I transitioned to the Coast Guard Blue Dolphins (CGBD) in 2020. Since then, I earned a place on the CGBD National Team and a Futures qualifying time in 200 Fly. My current goals include earning Junior National Team qualifying times.  

I Iook forward to swimming on a college team where I can build trust and establish loyalty with the coach and my teammates. This is the  environment I thrive in. With the team, I forge ahead every day in rigorous training to achieve my goals and win races. Outside the pool, I plan to pursue Civil Engineering and ROTC.
