Personal Statement

My goal is to swim in College and eventually go to Medical School. I would like to attend a university that will provide me with the best opportunity to go to Med school or PT school. The two things I love most is swimming and playing musical instruments. I train hard in the gym on off season. I live in a small town with limited access to the local pool so I have to take advantage of the time I have when I get it to train in the water. I understand I have responsibilities and obligations so I think I am pretty good about prioritizing. I know that my coach and my team mates count on me to keep my grades up and to make practice so I do not want to let them down. I would consider myself a hard worker and an honest guy.

I train crossfit off season so that I am in shape and strong come swim season. Pool availability is limited in the area I live during the off season. When season begins to pick back up, my USA coach does USRPT with me and really focuses on technique so that I can carry that over into my high school swimming. High school typically puts on the mileage and there are so many guys in the water that it benefits me to work 1 on 1 with my USA coach as well.
