Hi Coaches,
My name is Kael Barbour. I am 17 years old and just completed my junior year (or grade 11) of high school. I attend Webber Academy which is the top academic school in my province of Alberta. I take AP courses in the sciences as that is my area of interest.
I was a multi sport athlete growing up with an emphasis on soccer. I played on every school sport team in junior high but the level of competition was poor and that helped me realize I preferred individual based sports more. I picked up tennis at age 12 but it was a frustrating process for me. High level tennis was not accessible to me due to a lack of spots at any of the tennis clubs in Calgary. In place, I took as many private lessons I could get and spent a lot of time hitting against the backboard at my local tennis courts. At age 15, I was finally given a spot in the elite program at the Alberta Tennis Center and I am improving rapidly. I want to attend a university in the USA so that I can continue to develop and improve. I have not reached my potential yet. I just need the opportunity to keep training and competing at an elite level. Please consider me for your program as I will give you 110% effort on and off the court.
