Personal Statement
As an athlete I believe that I am quite talented at most sports I dedicate my time to. I find it easy to get the knack of things, and enjoy doing pretty much any outdoor activity. On free weekends, I and a few of my friends go on long hikes that last 2 to 3 days, walking a span of 20 kilometers in the middle of British Columbia's great wilderness. In the last few years my focus has shifted from many sports, from basketball, skiing, to field hockey, ice hockey and soccer. My body frame is lean yet fast, I weigh 148 pounds, and I am 5'11. Being reasonably light for my height, gives me the ability to be quite fast and agile. My school tennis did not start till last year, the reason being, the schools that I attended did not have tennis teams. Last year, my junior year, I had the chance to play starting, and on the number 1 doubles team. Our team became district, and city champions, and then placed third in Provincials. During the school tennis season, I only had one loss, and that was to the Provincial Champions. I have now been playing tennis for 5 years, and 3 with my full dedication. I was an Assistant Captain last year, and will be the Captain of the team this year. My dedication is shown on the court, I run for every ball, whether or not I can get to it or not. I don??t give up, and will never throw a match because I feel I have no chance of winning, when I go out, I play to win. It is my dream to play in the United States for a college. Geographically, I would want to play somewhere that has good weather and or is not far from home, such as California, Florida, Texas, and other states such as these. I??m open to different schools ranging in size, division level. The only thing I would like is that the school has strong academics. My interests would have to be law, psychology, and architecture. I haven??t narrowed it down to which one, but right now, all these fascinate me. I would like to make an impact on the team, and would like to play as a freshman, but I will work and earn my spot if I have too.
