Rohan Gupta '20 Recruiting Profile

Hello! My name is Rohan Gupta, and I am from Huntington Beach, CA. I currently attend Huntington Beach High School, and I will be graduating in the spring of 2020. I have been a part of the Huntington Beach High School Tennis Team (Division 1) since my freshmen year and I am the varsity line one singles player. I have been playing tennis since I was five years old, and I love the team aspect that high school tennis provides. Since I was seven years old, I have participated in USTA tournaments. I have played several open, national, and international tournaments (USTA International Spring Championships main draw). This past year, I was a semifinalist in a 16s Level 3 SCTA tournament and have played several USTA national tournaments. In college, I hope to continue to play tennis as it is my main passion in life. I plan to major in chemical engineering and minor in business. I hope to continue my grandfather's chemical/polymer company (Polycoat Products) when I am older. My main strength in tennis is my forehand, speed, and ability to anticipate. I am extremely hardworking and am known on my team for "gutting out" tough matches. I always give 100% effort and make sure to have a positive attitude and respect my opponent. Tennis has helped me become a dedicated, process-driven individual, and I have learned to evolve and improve one step at a time.
