I have always loved playing tennis and competed at a high level. At my highest I was about a 9.2 or a 9.3 UTR and ranked in top 100 in So.Cal. However during my freshman year of high school, my love for tennis was nearly gone and I couldn’t handle the pressure of it. I ended up quitting tennis for freshman year and halfway through sophomore year. Something brought me back to tennis though when the season started for the boys team. I had a new goal of playing for and representing Torrey Pines. I came back that spring and absolutely crushed the tryouts. My strokes were still there and I was ready to reinvest myself in tennis. The only issue is that I haven’t had a coach since I was around 11 and my disinterest in tennis didn’t help me find any, so currently I am trying to rebuild my game and make myself a better competitor. My UTR has dropped significantly to around a very low 8, but I will be working very hard this coming year to make my UTR more presentable. I am also planning on getting my ranking up because I am ranked 384 in So.Cal. This spring my high school team won CIF regionals and states and I won All regional Second team and got an award for academic-athlete.
